A leading Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Kaduna State, under the auspieces of Hope Builders Foundation, has urged Nigerian youths to take advantage of the digital age of the 21st Century to build a better careers.

Mr. Norman Didam, made the plea while delivering a lecture on Information Communication Technology (ICT) and other entrepreneurship skills, during the three days seminar organized by Hope Builders Foundation in Kagoro, Kaduna State.

Speaking at the event on the topic “Enriching indigenous Digital Technology” Norman, said digital Technology has contributed in boosting the economy of many Nations in recent time, expressed that youths must take advantage of their Smart Phones and other digital devices to stand out in this global dispensation.

” We are in the digital age that new skills are popping up every day, you must have the right knowledge of the ICT to have the right job ”

Didam said, company and many organisations are looking for applicants that have skills in ICT, not just knowledge in typing with computer but skills that meets organisation standards in the 21st century.

” Don’t use your social media handle post anything you feel,but Create a better profile on your social media platforms, as many company and organisations go through the profile of applicant before calling him or her for interviews”

He Further, stated that there are many Skills that youths must engage in ICT such as Web developer, social media manager, graphic design among other skills, while noted that, outstanding Knowledge on Digital Technology, makes one relevant in our ontemporary society.

Responding to the event, the Host, Chief Executive Officer, Hope Builders Foundation, Dr. Mathias B. Yashim, said the three days Annual Fun-Fair Program, is to help equipped the people of Kagoro in such a way that they can live their lives without waiting for any white collar job that may never come soon.

He appealed to the participants to use the knowledge gain in the seminar to add value to their lives and make positive impact in the society.

Dr. Yashim, disclosed that the society is looking for Youths, men and women that will transform the Kagoro community by harnessing its God given resources for development.
