Hope builders international, said the organization will be donating at least two thousand sanitary pads to Kaduna schools before the end of 2021.

Director Program to the organization, Courage Simeone Agbeti, stated this during an interview with Newsmen on Tuesday.

According to him, not fewer than 50 schools in Kaduna will be a beneficiary of this benevolence from Hope Builders who is one of the leading NGOs in Kaduna State.

“We are out today and throughout this month to ensure that every young girl in Kaduna school is enlightened via this project, “Pad a girl initiative.” Today, we came out with over 200 sanitary pads out of which 135 were distributed to available students. About 50 schools are in our budget this year and we are hoping that as soon as we get supports from other donor organizations, we will be able to carry out the project successfully. He said.

Also speaking with Journalists during the program is the Chairperson, Hope Builders Consult, Mrs. Patricia Peter Wyenom, said no girl or woman should be left behind because of her period, urged School managements, Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of both Government and Private Secondary Schools to indicate interest to support the establishment of Menstrual hygiene management clubs in the schools, which will include the development of the curriculum to guide the activities of the schools.

Mrs Patricia lamented over the rate of backwardness including the gap between the male and the female counterparts in the society, noted that menstruation is natural not a sin.

Recall, that the non profit making organization had donated hundreds of sanitary pad to secondary school children in Television, last year during the menstrual Hygiene day activity chaired by the Senior Special Adviser to Kaduna State Governor, Hon. Joy Akut.
